early 1900's crochet lace edging

I got some CUTE floral pyjama pants the other week, and some vintage thread my mom sent me, and so i could not resist making some lace for the pant legs!! kept in the floral theme, and had to adjust for less thread usage halfway through lace edge #2..haha...it was a struggle finishing it with the only thread i had! wish me luck sewing it all onto my pantaloons, as i realised one edge is longer than the other..which means i might end up having to cut and graft part of the lace o_o' STAY TUNED!

1917 insertion lace

I have this thrifted pair of jeans that i ADORE, and been mending over the years. now it's time to size them up a little bit, so i chose a thread that has some heft to it. dont want any daintiness sandwiched by this tough jean fabric. honestly this pattern is genius, and a really nice zoning-out project. Ideal for when I'm watching something! Which is a good thing, too, cus i need 84"(213cm) worth of lace :) the pattern comes from this book (free book download) 1917 booklet called 'crochet and tatting'
